Discussion concerning the authenticity of global warming caused by mankind has existed ever since the proposal of this phenomenon. The rising ocean levels and the increasing temperatures are often seen as a result of mankind. At the same time, many people including scientists see these changes as the nature of the world. Many scientists and researchers claim that global warming has naturally existed since the Ice Age as climate gradually, but continually changes and temperatures gradually increase. New evidence from a recent report written by a panel of international climate scientists adds new input to the discussion. This report was written by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Changes. This panel was found by the United Nations in 1988. This panel has noticed extreme weather changes and attributes these changes to the global warming phenomenon.
The report describes the scale of disaster of the recent and of the future. The report blames the extreme nature of these future disasters on climate change created by mankind, population shifts, and poverty. As a report nearly 600 pages long, it focuses on the dangers, costs, and health problems of disasters in the future. Losses from weather disasters have already increased dramatically in the past few decades. In the 80’s, the United States faced an average of 3 billion dollars yearly on weather disasters. In the last decade, the statistic has increased to 20 billion dollars a year. Whether you believe in man-made global warming or not is a different discussion. Disasters are occurring and because of them, we are losing a lot of cash.
